Hmm...the suspense. Oh the God damn suspense. I hate it. We all hate it. We want to know what is going to happen next. Will Jon die? Will Katherine kill Elena? Will she hurt or kidnap her? Will she TURN her? Will Katherine keep pretending to be Elena? The suspense of waiting for the second season is killing me.

Though in last month’s Vampire Diaries cliffhanger Elena’s doppelganger brutally attacked John, his portrayer, David Anders, confirms that he’ll be back for the season premiere. And beyond that? “That’s up in the air right now,” he says. “They haven’t picked up [my] option yet. I feel like the character has a lot of legs and you can go in many different directions with him. But ultimately it’s [executive producer] Kevin Williamson’s choice.”
Although on paper the odds of John surviving would appear slim — the dude got his fingers chopped off and took a blade to the gut — Anders reminds fans, “People don’t always die from knife wounds.”

Mystic Falls Gets a new Bad Guy.
We never learned exactly what the evil Mayor Lockwood (Robert Pralgo) was (vampire? werewolf? smoke monster?) before he lost his life in a burning basement inthe season finale. But we may find out thanks to a mysterious new arrival headed to Mystic Falls.
“Our big new addition is Mason Lockwood, the mayor’s much younger and cooler brother, who has been estranged from the family,” says executive producer Julie Pec. “His return introduces a lot of questions about what is so special about that creepy Lockwood family.” My guess: they were unicorns with wooden vampire-killing horns.

"I can't talk much about it yet," says executive producer Julie Plec, "but one of the big surprises is that Katherine comes face to face with Elena."

"I will have to ask for a second pay check," kids the 21-year-old, who as a child marveled over Lindsay Lohan's dual performance in The Parent Trap. While special effects have advanced a thousandfold since Elizabeth Montgomery's Samantha/Serena face-offs on Bewitched, Nina is still worried about emoting opposite a stand-in tennis ball when the series resumes production in July. "It will be difficult because a lot of acting is reacting to the other person, but it'll be fun to step out of my comfort zone."
Nina's not the only one who'll be given a tough acting assignment. Having the look-alike ladies in the same town will also force Ian Somerhalder to play two different sides of Damon. "It's going to be an emotional rollercoaster for me," Ian predicts. "Damon, with Katherine, is this youthful wide-eyed fun guy who is so intrigued by her — so different from the maniacal, more mature Damon you see with Elena."

Nina Dobrev who plays Elena Gilbert on CW’s hot new show “Vampire Diaries,” was recently spotted hangin with her co-star Ian Somerhalder, which has started to fuel rumors that they might be dating. Ian Somerhalder plays vampire Damon Salvatore on the show. They were spotted at the Lakers game last week.

If Nina’s interview statement with Seventeen Magazine is true, they’re most likely just good friends as she told them that she would never date a co-star.
She stated, “I think it could definitely get sticky if you dated your costar. To be completely honest, dating an actor is very complicated. There’s a lot of vanity involved. And they’re in their head, and they’re kind of crazy. And you’re always surrounded by beautiful people. I would prefer not to date an actor.”
